The Finance Council is a consultative body which provides the parish with advice concerning the stewardship of parish fiscal resources. It assists the pastor by conducting long range financial planning with regard to funding operational and capit5al needs, and developing and overseeing the parish budget process. e welcome parishioners with good sound fiscal sense. A background in accounting, banking, or finance is not required. Finance Council meetings are held on fourth Thursday of each month.
The Pastoral Council is a consultative body to the pastor and parish whose purpose is to form community as a sign and witness of unity for the larger parish community; to provide recommendations for parish priorities and directions through pastoral planning; and to promote communication and understanding among parish organizations and between the parish, the Archdiocese and the universal Church. Pastoral Council members serve a three year term. A variety of backgrounds representative of various demographic groups is encouraged. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. The Building and Grounds Committee provides the parish with advice concerning the maintenance and upkeep of the parish facilities; with a comprehensive five-year plan addressing long-range care, upkeep and improvements to the facilities as well as needed capital improvements or additions; with organizational help through work parties, paint parties, and other projects. Meetings are held throughout the year.
The Faith Formation Commission is a consultative body which seeks to support the development of spiritual, educational, and faith sharing opportunities for all parishioners in our continuous and lifelong process of growth. Our purpose is to nurture a faith response in each individual that would awaken and challenge the Christian community to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ.
The liturgy commission helps to keep the common vision of our parish alive in liturgical action. We aspire to meet the needs of a diverse parish by creating a heightened sense of spirituality grounded in our Roman Catholic belief. We plan and implement all liturgical rituals and celebrations of the parish. We educate ourselves and the parish on the new liturgical practices. We formulate and recommend how liturgical practices will be implemented within the parish. In an effort to include more people in the planning of liturgies, the liturgy commission will be asking volunteers of the liturgy ministries to participate in planning special liturgies such as a prayer service, penance service, Thanksgiving Advent, Lent etc. The liturgy commission is made up of members from various liturgical ministries of the parish The commission meets throughout the year.
The School Commission is a consultative body serving to advise and support the principal and pastor in school related matters. The responsibilities of the Commission, in cooperation with the principal and pastor, include recommending a mission statement for the school grounded in a Catholic faith tradition, recommending policy, setting long range goals for the school, developing means to finance the school (including tuition structures, financial development, and fund-raising), promoting communications, public relations, and evaluating the school’s strategic goals and plans.
