Healthcare Ministry
Volunteer Parish Nurses are available to parishioners after each Mass on the third weekend of each month to take blood pressures and answer health questions. An announcement will be made before and/or after Mass that nurses are available in the Library to take your blood pressure. No appointment necessary, come by and see us!
St. Jeanette Kimball Guild delivers food to Hopelink food bank on a weekly basis. Non-perishable food can be brought to the Koinonia Room lobby any time you are attending Mass or an event at St. Madeleine Sophie Parish.
Congregations for the homeless is an ecumenical service provided by our three local parishes, Holy Cross Lutheran, St. Margaret’s Episcopal Churches, and St. Madeleine Sophie, to aid homeless men in their efforts to obtain and hold a job. Volunteers have the opportunity to help by shopping, doing laundry, and helping with meal preparation.
In August each year, we collect school supplies for needy students in our area. Along with donated school supplies, we need volunteers to inventory items collected, sort, box and transport items.
Every day of the week, the Salvation Army facility at Crossroad in Bellevue, serves a hot meal to everyone who shows up hungry (usually around 60 people). St. Madeleine Sophie supports this program by providing and serving the Crossroads meal on the second Thursday of each month. Parish groups, families and friends commit in advance to plan, shop, prepare and serve the monthly meal.
