Offertory support helps us pay for the day to day operations of the parish. We need approximately $960,000 in annual offertory income to sustain our operational budget. The majority of these funds come from the offertory collection.
Debt Service support helps us make our payments on loans we secured to build the Koinonia Room, the Narthex, Sophia Chapel, Library, Youth Room, Master Plan site improvements and to provide handicap accessibility in the sanctuary and church buildings. We need approximately $20,000 a month to make our loan payments. Over the last three years we have been making our debt payments with pledges received in the 2008 Legacy Campaign. However, these pledges come to an end in December. We need to continue to make our debt payments in January but to do so we need your financial support. It is not possible to support these payments through operations without eliminating ministries and personnel. So instead of running another 3 year campaign we are asking all parishioners to make a donation to debt service in addition to their offertory contribution.
If we have your email address we will be emailing a Stewardship update at the end of the week. If you would like to be added to our mailing list please email: [email protected]
Stewardship is our response to the call to follow Jesus, and a way of living that recognizes all we have – our time, talent, treasure, our life itself – are gifts from God. Stewardship requires us to show our gratefulness for these gifts by sharing them in justice and love with others, and to return them with increase to the Lord. Stewardship is an expression of who we are as disciples of Jesus. By baptism, each person is called to be a disciple, to evangelize our environment, and to build Christian community, to be stewards of God’s gifts.
Stewardship Prayer
Almighty God, we thank you for all the gifts you have given us; our lives, our loved ones, in short, all that we are and all that we have. Most of all, we thank you for Jesus your son and our redeemer, who came among us to show us the way to eternal life. Jesus was the perfect steward of your gifts showing us that complete trust in you is necessary and that giving of self is a most important part of following him. Please help us to grow in your love and in the strength to give of ourselves to others so that we may follow your son’s example and help all people to complete his mission of salvation. May our every offering of our time, talents, and our material resources be made in the same spirit of sacrifice that Jesus taught us by his life and death for us. We ask this through Jesus Christ your Son and our Lord. Amen.
